I have read that The Wilderness Lodge is the favorite of kids. Please tell me why. We have a 3 year old and are exploring the best options. Thank you.

Many guests enjoy the Wilderness Lodge (WL), including children. Our son’s first stay here was at the age of 2. He does enjoy the WL but has fond memories of many resorts from the All Star Movies (he was fascinated with Herbie the Love Bug) to the Grand Floridian.

Children find the Wilderness Lodge to be an “Old West” type of an experience. They can sleep in bunk beds. Our son loves the stream that flows indoors and walking over the bridge in the lobby. Playing with Lincoln Logs in the lobby of the Whispering Canyon Café has always been a favorite activity for kids. Dining at Whispering Canyon Café is a hoot! Our son likes riding the stick ponies and finding the hidden Mickey under the fireplace.

The Lodge is fun to explore and has wonderful places to curl up and look at the park maps. The boat ride to the Magic Kingdom is an adventure. There is a quaint sand beach with a small playground. It really has a lot of activities, scenery and meals that are fascinating to many kids.

You can watch the Electrical Water Pageant from the beach in the evenings. Fire Rock Geyser erupts every hour 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.

For children of all ages, imaginations soar in this log-cabin setting.
