I have read that spring break crowds start as early as the first week in March. We are planning our trip to WDW during Mardi Gras Holidays 2014. Because Mardi Gras & Easter are so late does that mean the Spring Break crowd will be fall late also?

    Hi Jennifer!

Spring in general is a busy time at Walt Disney World, though some weeks are historically more crowded than others.  Basically, Walt Disney World is busy whenever children have off from school in the United States, which can vary from state to state and from type of school to type of school (e.g. college versus elementary school).  However, the week containing Mardi Gras is historically not as busy as Easter week, which can be extremely crowded at Walt Disney World.

To give you a better feel for the crowds, I recommend visiting the independent website TouringPlans.com.  That is the website for the research team behind the tour book "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World".  They are famous in the Disney fan community for producing a crowd calendar that predicts the crowd levels in the parks.  Their predictions are based on a lot of math and years of data collection.  As an engineer, I am a huge fan of their work.  Definitely check it out.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
