Little girls with Rapunzel

I read somewhere that children under 7 need to ride with a parent on some rides. Does this include 7 year olds or only those 6 and under? My children are 7, 7 and 10 and above 48 inches, are there any rides where the four of us would need another adult?

    Hi Jennifer,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am delighted that you brought this question to us!

It sounds like you are planning an adventure-packed vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort. According to the Park Rules guests under 7-years old must be accompanied by someone 14-years old or over to board a ride or attraction. When I took our girls when they were 7-years old, they were able to ride without me being in the same vehicle. Occasionally we were asked by a cast member how old they were, but they were given the go ahead to ride once I said they were 7-years old. Of course, I had to fight off the paranoid mom feeling of them riding without me sitting next to them!

I do not know of a ride where you would need another adult, but double-check with a cast member once you arrive if you approach a ride and are unsure. When my girls rode the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror for the first time, they were 7-years old and were riding with their 10-year old cousin and me. The 10-year old actually made a last-minute decision to not ride as we were boarding the elevator. Just have a back-up plan if you need to split the group because someone decides not to ride.

Be sure to  make your Fast Pass+ selections 60 days in advance if staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. We use the My Disney Experience Mobile App to help us navigate the theme parks by checking ride wait times and getting directions to attractions.

Jennifer, I am so excited for your family! Be sure to check out your ride photos. They make us laugh every time.

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
