Read on a previous post travel time to parks could be 45-60 min via bus from AoA? I thought I heard AoA has its own buses? Also thought it was closer to Epcot. Would it be quicker to take bus to Epcot and get on the monorail for MK? Please elaborate? Thks

    Hi Katie,

Thanks for your question!  My family and I recently stayed at Disney's Art of Animation Resort and I'm sure you are going to have a wonderful stay!  The theming and atmosphere are fun for the entire family!  With regard to travel time, you are absolutely right;  Disney's Art of Animation Resort does have its own buses, which saves time by eliminating any stops along the route.   Another positive is that there is only one stop at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, meaning the bus will always be empty when it arrives.

The actual ride to and from Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios is between 10 - 15 minutes, while the bus ride to the Magic Kingdom is approximately 20 - 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Travel time can be significantly longer as buses depart around every 20 minutes, and depending on lines, you may have to wait for a bus or even two.  Once arriving at the park, you can expect to walk a short distance from the bus facility to the entrance of each theme park, adding time onto your travel.  Walt Disney World does advise guests to allow for travel time of up to 1.5 hours within the Walt Disney World property.

In my experience, it is not any faster to take a bus to Epcot and ride the Monorail into the Magic Kingdom once you account for:
    -  walking from the bus to the Monorail
    - waiting for the Monorail, followed by the actual travel time on the Monorail
    -  transferring to a different Monorail at the ticket centre
    - finally the walk to the park, you have spent way more energy traveling, and more time as well.

I hope this information helps Katie.  I do find that buses do come quickly, but the odd time, you may have to wait.  Here's a pixie dusted wish for short wait times and bus lines!
