I just read an about the Pirate Adventure at the GF. It sounds like fun, but I was wondering if my DD8 would enjoy the trip? Do girls go on the trip? Also, is it feasible to leave them there and be back on time using DW transportation? Staying at PC.

My eight year old son says "girls can go on it"!

And he adds "it's actually pretty fun, and they hide stuff everywhere". In fact, his buddy was a girl and my son insists that she had a good time too.

As a parent, I saw many girls and boys going on the Pirate Adventure. I would also recommend that you stay at the Grand Floridian or venture to the other monorail resorts rather than using your precious two hours traveling back and forth to the Pop Century Resort.

Consider having breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe. My husband and I got breakfast from Gasparilla Grill and took it outside to sit at a table overlooking Cinderella's Castle. It was a quiet and relaxing time for us. We walked around the Grand Floridian and then visited some shops. You might also consider a spa treatment.

A quick trip on the monorail would take you to the Contemporary Resort where you could visit more shops or explore the resort. It's a lovely walk to the Polynesian Resort (or go via monorail), if the weather isn't too hot.

You might even consider renting a boat from the marina to explore the Seven Seas Lagoon while your daughter is off on her own adventure.

    Happy sailing!
