I have read in past years you don’t need to purchase general admission tickets if you have purchased the special event ticket, but are only allowed in during the event. Is this still true for 2019?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Troy! I’m so happy you’ve stopped by to see us with your question about Special Event tickets for the Walt Disney World Resort.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are two really fun and unique events. Many times, my family and I only purchase party tickets and don’t use a regular theme park ticket for a visit to the Magic Kingdom Park. That’s because your special event ticket will allow you entry to the magical park as early as 4:00 p.m. That’s three hours of fun you can your family can enjoy at the park even before the party starts!

Troy, you can also make FastPass+ selections from 4:00 p.m- 7:00 p.m. on the nights you will attend any one of these special events! I always feel like these parties are a great value because of this and because you get to enjoy some of your favorite attractions with little to no wait time.

The entertainment is always special to each event. This year, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party boasts a brand-new Halloween firework spectacular, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular!

Minnie Mouse is the headliner for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party’s brand-new fireworks show, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks show! I can’t wait to see her dressed up in her Holiday best!

I hope I’ve been able to answer your question. If you have any more planning questions, you can always come back to see us. Helping you with the details of your next magical visit is our pleasure!
