    Thomas from NY Asked

I read about a monorail bar crawl on this site. Is there anymore information on this? Is there a ticket you need to buy and if so where do I get them?

    Hi, Thomas,

You are a man after my heart! I love all the lounges of the Walt Disney World resorts; they are great themed places to have an adult beverage and a bite to eat.

The monorail bar crawl isn't an official activity. No tickets required, just a knowledge of your limits since there are at least eight bars among the three resorts, not counting pool bars: Mizner's Lounge and the bars in Citrico's and Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian; The Outer Rim Lounge and the bars at the California Grill and the Wave at the Contemporary; and Tambu Lounge and Trader Sam's Grog Grotto at the Polynesian Village Resort.

Here's my suggested route. Start at Outer Rim with its large beer selection. No food is served, but they will bring bar mix to nosh on as you look out over Bay Lake. If you can get in (and access is often difficult), move to the California Grill for a bird's eye view of Magic Kingdom with your drink. Try some of the fabulous sushi there, too.

Continue to the Polynesian for some honey chicken wings or pulled pork nachos with a tropical cocktail at Tambu Lounge.  And don't miss the kitschy fun of Trader Sam's Grog Grotto

Finally, I would end at the Grand Floridian's Mizner's Lounge, which is quiet and elegant and has a selection of specialty whiskeys, scotch and cigars.

You can do a similar bar crawl through the Epcot area resort lounges. I'm out of space, but check back with me if you'd like my recommendations there.

    Cheers,

    Wilma
