I have read in a few poststo get a Fastpass only for group 1 and then rider switch for Grp 2. i have read on other sites that there are some cast members that insist on both groups have Fastpasses?

Hi, Andrew!  Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

There is nothing quite like experiencing the magic of Walt Disney World Resort with young children, and services such as Rider Switch make visiting the theme parks with little Mouseketeers a breeze.  If you have a child or children in your party who do not meet the height requirement or simply do not wish to experience a particular attraction, you may speak with a Cast Member at the attraction entrance about using the Rider Switch Service.

The Cast Member will issue your group a Rider Switch pass, and one adult can wait with the non-rider(s) while the other members of your party wait in the standby queue.  Once they return from riding, the waiting adult may bring up to two other guests with them and access the attraction using the FastPass+ queue.  This eliminates the need to wait in the standby line twice.

If you would like to use the Rider Switch Service along with FastPass+ and bypass the standby queue altogether, you may certainly do so.  However, in this case, all members of your party who wish to ride must have a valid FastPass+ for that attraction.  This rule is a fairly recent update to the Rider Switch Service, which may explain why you have seen some conflicting information.

I hope this clears everything up for you, Andrew.  As you get ready for your trip, be sure to check out these Disney Parks Moms Panel tips for making magic with preschoolers.  If you have any additional questions, stop by and visit us again.

    See ya real soon!
