Hi! I read that you can charge your phone at the parks, even drop it off and come back for it! Is this true? Although I'm generally on top of charging my phone... I'd love to hear the details!

    Hey Bethany-

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Last summer, I was at the Magic Kingdom Park exploring with my two Disney ”mountaineers" and was using my phone to check wait times with the My Disney Experience App, to post to social media as well as to text my wife. Needless to say my battery was empty by 4:30 p.m. Yikes! no battery. I went to Guest Services located at City Hall in Town Square and they took care of me. I dropped off my phone, went to get a bite to eat and when I returned I had enough power to get me through Evening Extra Magic Hours. Fantastic! I have found many places to charge phones and portable devices since then.

    Here is my advice:

    1. Recharge with an affordable portable battery recharger instead of finding an outlet. Charging your device at an outlet tethers you to the wall and prevents you from exploring and enjoying.

    2. Carry a charging cord and outlet adaptor specific to your device. Please do not rely on Walt Disney World Resort Cast Members to provide these items. I keep mine in a small resealable bag along with the portable battery recharger in my backpack.

    3. When you enter a Theme Park, grab a GUIDEMAP and a Cast Member to ask where are the current device charging locations. Mark these places on your map as they may change without notice.

    4. Guest Relations at every Theme Park will charge your device if they have the outlets available to do it. They will tag your device and give you a claim ticket. This is not a quick charge station, expect normal charging time.

    5. There are many outlets scattered throughout the Theme Parks. An excellent article titled “Keeping Phones Charged at Walt Disney World Parks” at will give you a generous list and excellent advice.

I hope this helps you stay powered on your entire visit.

    Enjoy making many Magical Memories!
