i have read your answers about tipping the house keepers and it was indicated to tip 2# per house keeper how many house keepers clean the room each day?

    Hi Sheri,

Tipping is a personal matter about which there are many opinions. I have always heard that the rule of thumb is to tip the housekeepers $1 per person in your party, per day. For example, if you have a family of four, then tip four dollars a day.

Generally there is only one housekeeper per room per day. However, if you're staying at a deluxe resort with turn-down service, then there may be a second housekeeping service.

You should leave your housekeeping tip in an envelope or with a note saying "thank you" so that the housekeeper knows that the money is intended for her. Also, you should leave a tip each day, rather than all at the end of your stay, because it is very likely that different housekeepers will be servicing your room each day.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
