I read this advice for securing a boarding group for Rise of Resistance: "It’s important that only one member of your party try to secure a boarding group. Multiple members using the app at once will slow down the process." Is that true?

Bright Suns, Bonnie, and thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I sense the Force is strong with you, so I’d love to help you plan the best way to get a Boarding Group for the epic new attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

I’ve also been reading many different tips and tricks online for the best way to nab a Boarding Group for this exciting experience. Here’s one of the best resources I’ve found, a post from the Disney Parks Blog, which includes a step-by-step process, starting with downloading the Disneyland app. As for the advice you mentioned in your question, I wouldn’t say that’s necessarily true, from my experiences. Just last week, I headed to Disneyland Park with my fellow Disneyland Resort Panelists, and we linked our tickets together on the Disneyland app in order to increase our chances of getting a Boarding Group. A Cast Member recommended turning off our Wi-Fi, which we did. Then, we headed out towards Splash Mountain before park opening, in order to distance ourselves from the crowds a bit. We heard that this could also potentially help. As soon as the park officially opened, our group of five all attempted to nab a Boarding Group on our own respective phones, and one member of our group was able to get Boarding Group 29 – we were elated! Also, just one week prior, my friend and fellow Panelist, Tony S., attempted to get a Boarding Group with his family of six, all trying at the same time. One of his children got a Boarding Group for the family in no time!

My other recommendation is to make sure your list of linked tickets on the Disneyland app only lists the Guests you want to get a Boarding Group with – this will save you valuable time from having to select and de-select which Guests will join you on the attraction. This made the difference for me a few weeks ago when getting a Boarding Group with my sons – the Guest standing next to me got Boarding Group 48, while I got 61 since I had to de-select some Guests from my list before getting my Boarding Group.

I hope this information helps, Bonnie! Please don’t hesitate to stop by with any additional planning questions… I’m happy to help you become the newest recruit to join the Resistance!

As they say in Batuu, ‘Til the Spire,

Hello from sunny California! I currently live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder for more than 20 years! As a mom of three kids under the age of 8, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
