Hi, re dining plans. Entitlements used to expire midnight of departure but it now says: Want to eat light one day and splurge the next? Not a problem! You can simply redeem multiple meals or snacks until all of your entitlements have been used. is this true

    Anthony,

    Thanks for your question!

Both these statements are correct! Your Disney Dining Plan credits do expire at the end of your departure day. So you can use them all that day of check-out, if you wish.

What they meant on the statement you saw on the site was that you did not have to use a specific set of dining credits on specific days. You don't have to spend 1 snack, 1 table service, and 1 counter service on every given day. If you were visiting for 5 nights, but used up all your credits in the first 3 days, that is your choice, and it is OK to do that. Of course you would have to pay for any meals from that point forward, as you can imagine, but the key here is that from the day you check in until the day you check out, you get to choose when and where you 'spend' your credits. They don't mean that the credits last past your checkout date, just that you can spread them out during your trip as you deem necessary. Does that make sense?

Personally, I find that by the last day I have used up most of my credits. I try to save 2-3 snack credits so that I can get something for my girls to nibble on during the Disney's Magical Express bus ride back to the airport. I get them some bagged snack at the hotel food court, which can often be the last treat of the trip!
