    Tami from Va Asked

Hi moms! What is the quickest way to get from Animal Kingdom Lodge to Fort Wilderness? We have one person in a motorized scooter.

Hey howdy hey, Tami! Thank you so much for stopping by with your question! You wouldn't happen to be headed to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground to enjoy the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, would you? It is my favorite reason to head to that resort! Well, I haven't been able to get my husband back over there since that one night he ended up being "that guy" that gets picked to take the brunt of just about all of the jokes. Haha! I tried to tell him we were just laughing with him, not at him ... but a big, strong Dad dancing on stage in a pink tutu? Come on! That's comedy gold there!

So, let's talk about transportation. You have a couple of options for your trip. If you want to truly go the easy and quick route, Minnie Van Service is your answer. This is the most adorable way to arrive at your destination! They do have larger vans that are able to transport motorized scooters and wheelchairs. The best way to book the accessible van is to call (407) 828-3500. I do want to recommend that you call a good bit in advance as there are a limited number of the accessible vans. Minnie Van Service will be able to take you to most locations within this resort, including a parking area very close to Pioneer Hall.

If you prefer to use complimentary Disney transportation, then you will need to make a few transfers. I recommend you board a bus from Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge to Magic Kingdom Park. From there, look for the water launch headed to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Their fleet of watercraft is a mixture of small boats for guests who can fold their wheelchair to walk aboard and larger accessible boats that can take on motorized scooters and wheelchairs without requiring them to be folded. On the off-chance that the accessible boat is not in service, the Cast Members there can direct you to the resort's bus.

I hope this information helps you easily reach your destination! Thanks again for stopping by and please let us know if you have any other questions!
