Another quick ? Do you recommend a) packing towels for swimming/water parks, b) Renting them, or c) buying them there? Maybe there are beach towels on every corner? Or maybe really nice ones on Disney that make great souvenirs? We do have a car for shop

We have always rented towels at the water parks. Prices can change, but as of March 2008, the towel rental fee was $1.00 per towel per day. The reason that we've rented is that we always fly to WDW and beach towels are a bulky items that we never had room for in our luggage. The rental towels are fine for a quick dry-off, but they are not large, plush, or particularly absorbent. Because of the luggage space issue, we haven't really had a choice about bringing vs. renting, but if I had a car with more room, I would certainly bring a better towel.

As far as bringing your own towel vs. buying on site, that choice is really up to you. There are shops near the entrances to both water parks that sell lovely towels, both with and without Disney themeing. (Nice beach towels are also for sale in many of the resort gift shops.) The towels do make great souvenirs. One one trip we did buy a great Princess towel for my daughter that she LOVES and has been very durable. (It's about to start it's fourth year of daily use at summer camp.) If you have means to transport the towels home and want to buy towels as a Disney souvenir, then I say, "Go for it!."
