Quick ?. Planning a trip for Sept. 2010. Was leaning towards Poly, but keep hearing about Beach Club. DD 10&2 1/2 (me & DH too). Which would be a better choice? Any suggestions? Thanks!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE the panel!

    Hi Catherine!

You are debating between two of my family's absolute favorite resorts!  The Polynesian and Beach Club are both deluxe properties, with beautiful lobbies, wonderful amenities, outstanding dining options and well-themed pools with slides.

When you walk onto the grounds of the Polynesian, you will feel like you have been transported to a lush tropical paradise in the South Pacific!  The lobby is filled with water falls, tropical plants, and Cast Members dressed in leis and hibiscus-printed shirts.  The resort is located in the Magic Kingdom Resort Area, and is on the monorail line.  This is a huge perk if you intend to spend a significant amount of time at either the Magic Kingdom or Epcot.  The resort has two great restaurants, Ohana, which serves a fabulous character breakfast each morning, and a family-style Polynesian meal for dinner, and Kona Cafe, which serves Asian-infused American food.

The Beach Club, also has an excellent location in the Epcot Resort Area.  By staying here, your family will be able to walk or take a short boat ride to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios.  The Beach Club shares with the Yacht Club, what many argue, is the best pool at Disney, Stormalong Bay.  This mini-water park has a sandy bottom, lazy river and an unbelievable kiddie area with a huge sand-play area.  It is located a short walk from Disney's BoardWalk, which is filled with fabulous dining and entertainment options.  In addition, staying so close to Epcot, makes enjoying dinner at the World Showcase, followed by IllumiNations and a leisurely stroll back "home," a great way to spend a Disney evening!

Honestly, both resorts represent Disney's finest, and either is an outstanding choice for your vacation.  If I had to pick, I would recommend the Polynesian because I suspect with children your kids' ages, you'll be at the Magic Kingdom quite a bit.  Access to the monorail will, therefore, be a great asset to your family!
