2 questions re: DDP. Can just part of our party use their dining plan at a meal (table service), even if we are all together? If we check out, can we then go to Boardwalk and trade in our leftover meal credits or are we done once we check? Thank you!

    Hi Belinda,

A little while to go until your magical vacation. But you'll soon start to notice how time speeds up and the year will pass by in a blink of an eye. Well, except the last month. For some reason, time stops right before the magic begins, at least for me.

The Disney Dining Plans are an excellent way to manage your meal budgets ahead of time, as you can simply roll them into a Magic Your Way Vacation Package. You will receive a number of meal credits per person, for each night of your stay, and these credits will be available for you to use as soon as you Check-In to your Resort hotel. You can then use them as you please during your vacation. Just make sure you use all your credits by midnight of your Check-Out date.

You can split the payment of a restaurant's bill and pay some with meal plan credits, and some out of pocket. Also, if your plan for example doesn't include an appetizer, you may pay this out of pocket. Simply inform your server which ones you would like to charge to each payment method. Is that simple!

One last tip: you have plenty of time still, but remember that you can make advanced dining reservations starting 180 days before your Check-In, and the easiest way is with the My Disney Experience mobile app. Happy planning!
