I have a question on rider switch and fast pass. I have a 6,4, and 2 year old. If there is a ride my 2 year old cannot go on, do I need to book myself a Fast Pass to use rider switch? Or do I just book for my husband, 6 year old, and 4 year old?

Hi Dana! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Be honest, who in your house is more excited about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation: you and your husband, or your kids?

The answer I hope is everyone thanks to Disney's Rider Switch! This service means that everybody who meets the minimum height requirement who wants to ride can do so, which puts an end to playing 'rock paper scissors' to determine which parent has to sit that one attraction out with the smallest mouseketeer.

To answer your question, you can actually book the FastPass+ reservation both ways, either for one parent or both. When utilizing the Rider Switch, your entire party will notify the Cast Member at the rides entrance stand that you'd like a Rider Switch pass. The first adult will be handed a lanyard to pass off to the next Cast Member you see, which is usually the person asking how many people are in your party to wave you through to the next area. There you'll turn in your lanyard for a paper ticket, enjoy the attraction, find the rest of your group, and switch. If the other adult already has a FastPass+ reservation, then it's basically the same thing as the paper Rider Switch ticket. However, the Rider Switch ticket is usually valid for up to three guests, so technically your other two children could use their FastPass+ selection to ride with the first parent, and then enjoy the same attraction again, this time with the second parent.

I hope this helped clear things up a bit, Dana. Don't forget to check out some tips of what to do with your littlest little one while you're waiting for the others, and we'll see you real soon!
