Hello question for all Ohio/Indiana moms. The only time we can go is last week of July or first full week August. How bad is the weather compared to our August? Realistically will it be too hot to enjoy parks? Tips? BB & TL for sure. Preference of wee

Hi Danelle! I have to admit I am a true northerner and I hesitate to visit the parks in the summer. I prefer the cool temps and low humidity but if it meant I couldn't go at all then I would buck up and head down no matter what time of year. If this is the case for you then just be prepared and make the best of what Mother Nature gives you.

The summer weather in Florida is hot, humid, and rainy. I can't mince words and make that forecast any better. The temperatures are definitely warmer on average then the midwest but the biggest difference is the humidity. It remains high all summer long and into the fall with no breaks. Here in the midwest we might get a heat wave with high temps and humidity but we always can look forward to it being over after a short time. In Florida it is the norm. You also have to deal with the daily rain showers and storms that are part of their weather. They usually happen at the end of the afternoon and into the evenings and on a daily basis.

As awful as it all sounds many guests can still have fun and a magical time in the parks. The more you are prepared for the weather the better time you will have. Hit the parks in the early morning and the late evenings and take naps and enjoy pools and water parks in mid day when the sun is at its hottest. Stay in the parks during the rain as the lines can be shorter and purchase an inexpensive Disney rain poncho for those moments of showers. Stay hydrated as that will keep your energy up and eat small meals during the hot parts of the day versus big sit down feasts. And always pour on the sun screen as there is nothing worse then a Florida sunburn to ruin a vacation. Keep your pace slow and just enjoy what you can and don't worry about what you might miss. Being together as a family is what is important. Your last part was cut off but might be asking which week....I would suggest first week of August as more and more kids have to be back getting ready to head to school once again.
