A question about the MK arrival area.If you drive, you have to park at the TCC then take a boat or monorail to the actual MK park? This seems like it takes some time. How much time do I need to get from parking to the Castle for 8:00am CRT reservation? Thank

Yes, if you drive to the Magic Kingdom you will have to park at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). From there you can take the monorail or ferry boat to the Magic Kingdom entrance. It does take time and it’s wise to have a plan.

I would time your arrival by pulling in to the parking lot by 7:30 a.m. If the park is opening at 9 a.m., then the Magic Kingdom parking lot opens approximately 90 minutes prior to park opening. If it’s an Extra Magic Hour morning, then adjust the times accordingly. We have pulled up before the lot was open and got all circled around because the cones only led to the Cast Member parking. Finally we turned around and were on our way to the guest parking and by then, the lot was open and we parked in the very first row!

For an early arrival, you should have a parking spot that is within walking distance to the TTC. Before you leave your car, note your parking spot. Write it down or even quicker…snap a picture of the sign.

You can also hop the nearest parking lot tram to the TTC entrance. The resort monorail will be running (it usually starts at 7 a.m.) at this time. You may need to show your Advance Dining Reservation to the Cast Member manning the resort monorail (not the Express Magic Kingdom monorail). The Express monorail will only be running if it is an EMH morning. If it is, take it. Believe me, this all works quick and painlessly. We like to be everywhere early and it’s always worked out fine.

You will board the monorail stopping briefly at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian. The third stop is the Magic Kingdom. After you exit, you will go through security and proceed to the turnstile.

Go towards the far left turnstile where a green Priority Seating Check In sign will be visible. This is your early morning entrance. You will need park admission, along with your Advance Dining Reservation info. Before you know it, you’ll be walking down Main Street to the Castle.
