Hi Moms! Question about Magical Express. Staying at a WDW resort. At the end of our trip, can I check my bags at the resort for Magic Express and then opt to take a cab to the airport?

On your return trip to the airport from your Walt Disney World resort, you can use the Resort Airline Check In desk to check your bags. This service is separate from Disney's Magical Express.

You must be flying domestic on a participating airline, however. On my June visit, these airlines were listed as:

AirTran, Alaska, American, Continental, Delta, JetBlue, Northwest, United/Ted, US Airways

The Resort Airline Check-In desk is open from 5:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m. And you must check in 3 hours prior to your flight. Remember this service is separate from Disney's Magical Express. Therefore, you can take a cab if you wish!

This differs from using luggage transfer on Disney's Magical Express when arriving Orlando International airport. Upon arrival, you must actually take the DME bus in order to have your luggage transferred through to your hotel as this is a DME (not airline) service.
