Hi moms! Another question. My daughter and I are planning to do some shopping in Nassau. Is it better to use cash or a credit card at the market? Is it a big hassle to get on and off the ship at this port? Sailing Oct. 12th on the dream. Thank you

Welcome back, Ashlee! My family has enjoyed a few fun shopping trips in Nassau when we've been there without a planned Port Adventure. There is certainly a lot to see and do, so you'll have a wonderful day exploring!

I would highly recommend using cash in Nassau, as you'll find some vendors who only accept cash (U.S. Dollars), especially in the Straw Market. You'll have much better bargaining potential with cash as well. Some of the more brand name stores there will accept credit cards, so you can certainly bring those along too. It's never a bad idea to have cash just in case when you're in a foreign port of call.

Getting on and off the ship in Nassau is as easy as can be. Simply show your Key To The World Card as you disembark the ship, then walk off the ship, off the dock, through the indoor port center and out into the streets of Nassau. You might want to take in the shopping talk onboard the ship the day before you arrive in Nassau. Disney's shopping specialist will give you all sorts of tips on where to find the best deals, and she'll have coupons and other freebies to give out as well, so it's worth a listen! Then you'll know exactly how to get where you'd like to go when you head out that day.

After you've shopped to your heart's content in Nassau, just come on back to the port, show your I.D. and Key To The World Card to gain access to the dock, then again as you get on the ship, and you're all set.

October will be a beautiful time to enjoy the warm waters of the Bahamas! Have fun planning!
