hi, I have a question. I am coming to WDW in Sept 13-21. And I have medical conditions. I am a paraplegic I am in a wheelchair, I have Cystic Fibrosis so I need inhaler and nebulizer treatments 9times a day and I am legally deaf. Can you give any tips? TY

Hi Mellysah!  It is heartening that you are going to be taking a Disney vacation soon. The most important thing for you to do before you head down south is to make an appointment with your personal physician. I am sure he will understand the roadblocks that are involved when taking a vacation to a place like Disney World and will give you some great medical tips to make it as perfect as possible.

Please note that all parks have a medical facility and if you need a place to cool off or take care of a treatment you can find a spot there. Get the park maps as you enter and zero in on their locations.  Also check in with Guest Relations at each park and get a Guest Assistance card from them. This will allow you to sometimes use an alternative waiting area or entrance for attractions that might make it easier on you. It is NOT a front of the line pass so please understand that. They will encourage you to get a Fast Pass for all attractions using that system to speed up your time in line. Also ask Guest Relations about assisted hearing devices that they can provide. You can determine if this is something that will work with you so you may have the most enjoyable experience possible.

At Guest Relations pick up the guide for disabilities for that park. It will help explain which attractions require guests to move from their wheelchairs etc. This is a big help so you understand before you stand in a line waiting for something that isn't going to work for you.

    Have a super time!
