Some QS menus have a “snack menu”, does this mean all those items listed could be redeemed for a snack credit on DDP? For example at Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe the “snack menu” includes an entree list with a Norwegian Club would that be a QS entree or snack?

    Hi Emily!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I absolutely support your decision to resEARch your Disney Dining Plan options months in advance of your actual Walt Disney World Resort vacation. With over 300 dining locations, Disney is now becoming known as an Eat Park, too!

What you're actually looking at that says 'Snack Menu' is technically the 'Meal Period' category denoting the type of food that location serves. That's a confusing sentence, but basically there are two subclassifications between all Quick-Service Dining Locations. The break down is when one restaurant is better suited for an actual hearty meal, or if that location is better for when you're only kind of hungry and you don't want a full entree + two sides, but rather just a little something to hold you over. The full meal locations sometimes have multiple menus, while snack locations usually only have one for the entire day.

A good example of a multi-menu location is Sunshine Seasons, which serves both 'Breakfast' and 'Lunch and Dinner'. One of my favorite "sit down" Quick-Service Dining Locations is Columbia Harbour House, with it's substantial combo options and bountiful indoor seating area. But "Snack Meal Period" locations are are usually walk-up windows and counters that serve the same handful of items all day, that could be considered breakfast pastries or afternoon treats or full-on after dinner dessert, like the Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe.

Two ways I like to resEARch actual Dining Plan Snack options is to play around with the menus in the Mobile Ordering section of the My Disney Experience App, which will notate which items do qualify as a snack credit. I'll also google image search a Quick-Service Dining Location's name + the current year and look at it's menu that way.

We'll See You in 2019, Emily!
