Hi, we will have the QS Dining plan on our next trip to Disneyworld, however we'd like to pay out of pocket for one or two table service meals too. Can you recommend any restaurants with foods that cannot be found in quick service locations? Many thanks.

    Wendy:

Where do I begin? With over nearly 80 table-service restaurants at Disney World, you'll easily find two that won't be replicated at the quick-service counter locations. However, here are a few that definitely won't find a comparison:

    • Boma: If you're searching for an all-you-can-eat unique buffet, look no farther. Although you MIGHT be able to find one of its desserts at Mara, its roasted seafood and tender meat as well as my favorite, the salads, you certainly will not.
    • California Grill or Narcoosee's: Both offer exquisite menus that find themselves at the top of my budget. From surf and turf options to delicious desserts, you won't find an equal but it will be the view that cannot be topped. Both offer views of the Magic Kingdom's fireworks which alone is worth the price.
    • Ohana: This is a protein-lover's feast! Skewers of shrimp, beef and chicken come around your table after you've been stuffed with earlier courses of noodles, salad, dumplings and chicken wings.
    • Sanaa: Its bread service alone with lots of dipping choices makes the journey to get there worth it. Coupled with a view of the Savannah and its animals, you'll want to eat during the day so that you won't miss the anteater or zebra just a few feet away.
    • Via Napoli: The wood-fired pizza here will not be challenged by the Boardwalk pizza window nor Wolfgang Puck's Express. Order the calamari for an appetizer as well as a salad and top it off with a glass of sangria, and you'll find it one of the best dining values at Epcot.

These are just the tip of the iceberg. The restaurants at the resorts lend themselves to more original offerings than the theme parks, but feel free to explore more here to weigh all of your options.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
