I purchased our tickets through another source and will do a room only with dining plan reservation. Will we get new magic bands or should I link the ticket numbers to our old bands?

    Hi Jaynee,

Welcome Home!  You will receive new MagicBands with each Disney Resort hotel stay.  After you have made your room reservation you will be able to customize your MagicBand in My Disney Experience.  Personally I have now collected all the colors and love to bring multiple MagicBands with me on vacation so that I can coordinate my MagicBand to each day's outfit (translation: t-shirt and shorts).  As long as your previous MagicBand is still active and in good working condition you may use it along with your new one.  You can manage which MagicBands are active in My Disney Experience in the MagicBand section under Profile.

After you link your theme park tickets in My Disney Experience they will be linked to you the Guest and not a specific MagicBand.  Your MagicBands identify you and allows you to use theme park admissions, redeem your FastPass+ selections, use your Disney Dining Plan credits, and much more.  Therefore you may use any of your active MagicBands as long as they are in good working condition.

I hope this information helps you understand the magic behind the MagicBands a little better.  If you have any further vacation planning questions please write back to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel and we would be happy to help.

    Blessings,
