I’ve purchased an AP for the first time! Where do I get the physical pass/band? And if I have to get it the first time I go to the parks, how do I get the free parking to get into the park? If I have a magic band from a previous trip is it on that band?

Hi there, Becky! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We appreciate you taking the time to stop by and ask a wonderful Walt Disney World Resort vacation question!

Welcome to the Walt Disney World Annual Passholder family! In addition to gaining admission to four amazing theme parks, you are also entitled to many wonderful perks! Some of these include a complimentary MagicBand, early FastPass+ reservation times, discounted merchandise, and much more!

First, you will need to activate your Walt Disney World Annual Pass! This can be done at any of the four theme park ticket windows or Guest Relations on property. Once you have activated your Walt Disney World Annual Pass, you will be given a physical card that can be used to gain entry into the parks. You will be able to customize your MagicBand selection through your My Disney Experience account and may do so at any time throughout your year as a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder.

If you do need to utilize Parking at the theme parks prior to activating your Walt Disney World Annual Pass, you should be able to scan one of your previously received MagicBands as long as it is still connected to your My Disney Experience account. I would also recommend having a copy of your Walt Disney World Annual Pass purchase confirmation available as well, though. This way, you will be able to demonstrate your purchase, if needed!

I hope this information assists you in beginning your adventure as a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder!
