I have purchased annual passholder tickets on line which include free parking. Do I have to visit a park to activate them and if so do I have to pay the first parking fee. Is this reimbursed in the park. Or can I activate passes at a resort?

Hi there Irene, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Congratulations on those new Annual Passes! We've been Passholders for years, and we're so excited that the Pass we normally use will now include parking when we renew.

You have a few options for activating your new Annual Passes and still getting your parking benefit on the first day. If you're close enough to pop over to Disney Springs for a visit, you can park there for free, activate your Annual Passes at the Guest Relations location there, and be all set to enter the Theme Parks without having to stop on the way in to activate.

If you've received your Annual Passholder cards in the mail after purchasing your Passes, just show one to the Cast Member working at the parking entrance to receive your benefit. The Cast Member may ask for your ID, and they may scan the card and/or your MagicBand. If they do and note that the Pass isn't active, just let them know it's a new Pass that you'll be activating that day.

If you don't have a Passholder card yet, just print out your order confirmation and show that to the Cast Member on the way in and tell them you're going to activate it.

I think one of these options should work for you, but if for some reason you do end up paying for parking on that first visit, just hold on to your receipt and Guest Relations will reimburse you when you activate your Annual Pass at the window.

I hope this helps you enjoy all those great Disney days to come, Irene. Please stop by and see us again if you have any more questions.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
