If I purchase magic bands online, can I link them to my online purchased tickets before we arrive at the park? Will they already be activated? How will I know the right band is linked to the right person?

    Hey Rachel-

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. MagicBands are fashionable, personable, customizable, colorful and most of all convenient. I love collecting MagicBands from Walt Disney World Resort hotel reservations, online or in merchandise shops at the theme parks . You may also purchase them at Disney’s EarPort at the Orlando International Airport.

When you receive your online unactivated MagicBand purchase, you will notice a 12-digit ID Number on the back. This number will be entered into your Disney account through My Disney Experience. Linking to the account activates the MagicBand. MagicBands (and any active MagicBands on the Guests account) may then be used as a theme park entrance device instead of carrying tickets. As long as members of your party are linked to you through Family & Friends you may assign unactivated MagicBands. Otherwise they will need to link their own MagicBands. Once linked and activated they belong to that Guest. If you have MagicBands that are identical then I suggest placing some nail polish on the back as identification.

Disney Dad Tip: Check out the new MagicBands at the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. in Magic Kingdom Park from some great new designs.

Rachel, enjoy making many Magical Memories.
