If I purchase gifts and souvenirs on a Disney cruise ship or while visiting a port while on a cruise, is there a way to ship them home (no pun intended) so I won't be limited to just my luggage space for packing them and bringing them home with me?

    Ahoy Debbie!

Thanks for steering your ship back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

We must be cut from the same cloth because I definitely anticipate doing TONS of shopping during a Disney cruise, both onboard and ashore. All the ships in the Disney fleet have excellent merchandise shops like Mickey's Mainsail, White Caps, and Sea Treasures filled to the brim with whozits and whatzits galore! The Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy even have a Tiffany and Co. onboard-gotta love that iconic blue box with jewelry inside! (Sorry Ariel, it's not a dinglehopper.)

One of my favorite ways to remember our incredible cruise vacation is to buy souvenirs in our ports of call. My favorites? Ornaments, t-shirts, and coffee mugs. Keep in mind that Captain Mickey runs a tight ship, so any purchases made while ashore will be subject to inspection by ship security.

While there are not any shipping opportunities onboard or at the terminal, there are strategies to maximize storage space for souvenirs. For instance, on my last cruise on the Disney Wonder, I actually purchased a Disney Cruise Line duffel bag featuring Mickey, Minnie, and a nautical motif to carry home my purchases. It was actually bigger than my personal item that I travelled with, so it became my "bag" for the plane along with my rolling carry-on. If I am checking luggage, I plan on using a larger suitcase than I actually need for my cruise packing so I have space to spare for those "essential" goodies I purchase.

While Disney Cruise Line products can be found onboard the ships and often times exclusively there, I also like to periodically check the Shop Disney website. Lots of cute Disney Cruise Line merchandise has been showing up on the site from spirit jerseys, tumblers, and ear headbands.

    Happy Sailing (and Shopping)!
