Can I purchase a dining plan without getting the Magic package? I plan to purchase resident passes, and don't need the base tickets. My reservations have been made with a value resort.

    Hello Karen!

In most cases, a Magic Your Way Package, including tickets and room reservations, must be purchased in order to qualify for the Disney Dining Plan.  However, if you've reserved your room under an Annual Passholder or Armed Forces Salute rate, you will not need to purchase a Magic Your Way Package with tickets in order to purchase the Disney Dining Plan.  This also applies to Disney Vacation Club Members staying "on points".  The exception is not made for those staying under a special Florida resident rate.

You may want to consider purchasing a Tables in Wonderland Card, especially if you'll be visiting Walt Disney World more than once a year.  The TIW card costs $100 for Florida residents and gives the cardholder (and up to nine additional guests) 20 percent off your bill at participating restaurants and does include the discount on alcoholic beverages.  It can easily pay for itself over time.  TIW cardholders are also given complimentary valet parking privileges when dining at a Walt Disney World Resort.

Please let me know if you have any other questions, Karen.  I'd love to help you make your stay as magical as possible.
