Hi, do we have to provide proof of age for children less than 3? My daughter will turn 3 after we visit disneyworld but she is tall for her age. I just want to make sure that we will be permitted into the park without problems.

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

Isn't it great that kids under the age of 3 are considered free when visiting Walt Disney World? I like to think of it as a personal gift from Mickey Mouse, himself! You will not need to show proof that your daughter is under three when entering the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. It's pretty much on the honor system. If for some reason you are really concerned and want to ease your mind, you could always make a copy of her birth certificate and pack it in your park bag. But like I said before, it's really not necessary. In all of my years visiting the Walt Disney World Theme Parks I've never been asked proof for my daughter's age and I've never seen anyone else get stopped either.

Did you know that children under the age of 3 can also eat for free at restaurants in Walt Disney World? It just keeps getting better and better. At all-you-care-to-enjoy style restaurants, like 'Ohana and Cape May Cafe, you are able to fix as many personal plates from the buffet for your daughter as her little tummy desires. When you dine at a restaurant where you select an entree from the menu, like California Grill, your daughter is able to plate share from anyone at the table that you'd like. If you'd like to order your under 3 child their own meal, only then would you need to pay. We choose to dine at a lot of all-you-care-to-enjoy meals when my daughter was younger. She liked being able to eat like everyone else and it helped to save a little bit of money. Plus, a lot of buffet style meals are also character meals which was always so fun.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask. Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
