Hi! We are in the process of planning a week trip at the end of October. It will be me, husband, a 7 year old and 2 year old. This will our kids very first Disney trip. What are the best things to do for first timers and what is some good advice and tips?

Hi, Virginia! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I’m glad you have brought us your question!

There is so much to see and do, especially when you’re visiting for the first time! I would recommend starting by opening a My Disney Experience account. This planning tool will help keep all your reservations, tickets, dining reservations, FastPass+ reservations and so much more, in one easy to use app. Once you’ve done that, you can begin making plans!

How about making some Advanced Dining Reservations for some super fun Character meals? My top recommendations are Chef Mickey, where you get to meet the “Fab 5” and Crystal Palace where you’ll dine with your pals from the Hundred-Acre Wood.

There are also some special events happening during October that you won’t want to miss. For Halloween fans, on select dates, a special ticket event, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, happens at the Magic Kingdom. This is a very popular event and it can sell out quickly, so get your tickets soon!  Another must-do special event is the Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival. This festival is included with your admission to Epcot.

I’d love to share more, but sadly, I’ve run out of space. Please come back and see us again soon and we’ll gladly answer any additional questions you might have!

When I’m not at the Parks, you can find me leading worship at my local church or traveling with a prison ministry I sing and speak for. I look forward to answering your questions and sharing some of my favorite tips to help you plan your next magical Walt Disney World vacation! Learn More About Emille
