I am in the process of planning my family's first trip to WDW for August. I am looking to stay at PO-FQ. I How much time should I leave us to get to Chef Mickey's for a dinner reservation from the hotel? Should we cab it?

Traveling from Port Orleans French Quarter to the Contemporary for your Chef Mickey's dinner is pretty easy! From French Quarter, you'll want to take the bus to the Magic Kingdom. From there, you can take a 10 minute stroll to the Contemporary or hop on the monorail.

In general, I think a good rule of thumb would be to allow about an hour of travel time. If you arrive at the Contemporary early, you'll have a few minutes to tour the shops and enjoy the resort!

Since you'll need to wait for a bus (and maybe a monorail), a cab would be quicker and cut down a bit on your waiting time, if that is important to you. Personally, I'd only hop in a cab if I was running short on time and needed to get going!

    Hope this helps!
