We are going to the Princess Storybook Dining at in the Norwegian part of Epcot in May. This is our first trip to WDW. I have two questions - do all of the little girls dress up like princesses at the character dining? And, what exactly is Norwegian food?

My daughters love dining with the princesses at the Akerhus in the Norway pavilion at Epcot. Many, but by no means all, of the little girls dining at the Princess Storybook meals will be in costume. (My girls never dress up.) Your daughter should feel comfortable in princess attire or in regular park touring clothing.

The menu at the Akershus varies by meal. Breakfast would probably seem most familiar to you: fruit, bacon, eggs, sausage, biscuits, potatoes, and cinnamon rolls (yummy!). This is served family style, all you care to eat.

Luncha and dinner are served from a regular menu. For both meals there is a salad-bar type area with breads, cold meats, cheeses, and cold vegetables. The menu choices at lunch and dinner include baked salmon, pasta with vegetables, poached cod, venison stew, and braised lamb. There is also a children's menu to please younger palates.

If you would like to see the full menu, you can go to the website allearsnet.com. Click on the search button (near the top right) and search on the word "Akershus." You should see hits that will give you a chance to look at fairly current menus (February 2008). The chefs do tinker with their offerings from time to time, but you will get a good overview here.
