    Cheri from TN Asked

Can I use my previous Magic Bands for purchases on my next trip if I am not staying at a Disney Resort? My account is linked to my Disney Visa. Also, do you have any idea how long the batteries last in Magic Bands? Ours are 2, 3 & 4 years old. Thanks

    Hi, Cheri!

I am excited to hear that you are planning a return visit to Walt Disney World. There is always new magic to enjoy and explore!

Your MagicBands from previous vacations, if linked and active, can be used to access your  theme park tickets and FastPass+ linked to your My Disney Experience account. However, you will not be able to charge with the band. When you charge with a MagicBand, it is not charged to the band but to your Disney Resort hotel, so since you are staying off property, charging back to your room will not be possible. When using MagicBands from previous vacations, double check they are marked as "Active" on your My Disney Experience account.

Most MagicBand batteries should last about 2 years. Of course, they could last much longer, but I would play it safe and use the newest ones that you have. Also keep the actual tickets with you just in case your MagicBands have their last successful "tap" so you have a back-up with the tickets.

You may also want to check-out new MagicBands during your visit. There always seems to be new colors, designs, and special edition bands that are so cute. You might just find a new favorite MagicBand! Once purchased, you can link it to your My Disney Experience account or stop by Guest Relations in the park and a friendly Cast Member can help get you set-up.

Have fun planning your upcoming visit. Mickey and his Pals look forward to seeing you!
