Can I get a prescription filled during my stay at Disney

    Hi David,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. Since nobody wants their magical vacation to turn not-so-magical due to illness or injury, I travel to Walt Disney World with a baggie full of various medications and potions. I love that you, too, are thinking ahead so you can, as Scar from The Lion King sings, “be prepared!”

On a recent visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, my very excited daughter tripped and got herself a pretty epic scrape on her knee. We visited the First Aid Station in the park, and I of course pulled out my Disney Parks Moms Panel badge and began asking 10,000 questions of the friendly and very knowledgeable Cast Members there. I learned that the prescription service Disney works with is Turner Drugs Tourist Prescription Service. You can contact Turner Drugs with a written prescription from your provider and they can assist, including doing transfers from your home pharmacy. They can deliver to your Walt Disney World Resort room or to Disney theme park First Aid Stations. You can contact them at (407) 828-8125 with any questions about their service, including whether they work with your insurance. I saw a little girl with an ear infection getting her first dose of medication, which was basically pixie dust for her sore ears and worried parents.

While Doc McStuffins is on site to provide magical medical care to toys, it’s nice to have the information you need to be sure humans are healthy. Here’s hoping you now know “the place to go when you feel a little under the weather” and that you are “back in the swing” with everything you need to feel great at Walt Disney World.

Wishing you a healthy and magical vacation,
    Robyn
