Hi, Is it possible to rent a tent at Wilderness for four people so we don't have to bring out own tent from CT?

Hi Jessica! It sounds like you are heading to my favorite Walt Disney World resort, Fort Wilderness. I can certainly understand why you don't want to bring all that extra baggage with you.

The good news is that you can certainly rent tents from the Fort Wilderness Resort. Officially they have made it known in the past that tents were rented for large groups in the primitive area but recently they have relaxed that policy and they will rent to guests coming in for family vacations. It is important that you do call the resort ahead of time so they know you are coming and they have one reserved. Generally, it is first come renting basis so you don't want to arrive to find they are out. Please call 407-939-7807.

Right now tents are renting for $30 a night so it is not inexpensive. They also offer cots for $4 a night. If you are not completely set on tenting during your vacation you might want to consider looking into Renting an RV during your stay. You can find several Disney authorized companies who will rent their RV's on a daily or weekly basis. They can come equipped completely but ask about linens if you choose to call.

Your last option is to possibly ship your own tent on ahead to Fort Wilderness. You can do it so it arrives just a few days before you do. Address a box with the name the reservation is in as well as your arrival date. Disney resorts have been starting to charge a fee to hold packages so be sure and inquire about that so you are not surprised when you arrive. Just remember that when you rent a tent from Disney they will also put it up on your site for you. Now for me......that makes it worth it!
