Possible problem. We have military salute tickets and military disc rooms. military member is my fiancé. We are leaving in 50 days and have booked fast passes and linked magic bands. He might not be able to go now. How will plans be affected?

    Welcome BACK, Cindy!

Oh Boy, this is quite a quandary indeed. Mine is a Military family too, and I've had to reschedule a visit to Mickey's house due to the needs of the Air Force. I was able to glean a bit more info about your upcoming 60th Birthday trip (chEARs!) based on previous questions you asked, so here we go:

Are you still staying at Shades of Green? If no one else in your group has a valid U.S. Military or Military Spouse ID, your party unfortunately won't be allowed to check in or even visit this resort. Shades checks for Mil IDs at the entry gate, check-in, and the buses to and from Disney's Theme Parks. If someone else in your party does have an ID and MWR benefits, your fiancé should be able to swap the reservation from his name to theirs. But if not you'll have to cancel this reservation and book another hotel.

If you're now staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, and booked a special U.S. Military rate, you'll also be asked to provide a Military ID at check-in. The good news here is that Disney Cast Members love to do what they can to spread magic to Mickey's friends. I bet if you call the Hotel Reservation phone line, which is (407) 939-1936, and explain the situation, they will help you book any current Special Offers, Deals & Discounts that are available.

About your U.S. Military Multi-Day Promotional Tickets: The paper passes that Bases/Posts sell are actually Exchange Certificates that need to be validated at a Walt Disney World Resort Guest Relations location prior to their first use. This means that the Sponsor or Spouse, and their Military ID, will need to be present. Tickets mailed to you by Shades are already validated, but technically a Mil ID holder is supposed to be with the group. If you do need to postpone this vacation, these tickets are valid until December 18 this year. However, if you can't reschedule, you might be able to apply the monetary value of these promotional tickets to the purchase price of regular admission tickets and pay the difference. You could wait to do this in person at Guest Relations, or try calling the WDW Ticket line now. Their number is (407) 566-4985.

If you do postpone this visit, you'll need to cancel each Disney Dining Reservation individually lest you'll be charged a per-person no-show fee for each meal. This can be done in your My Disney Experience online profile or in the App. Your MagicBands will hold their Pixie Dust for about two years, so you'll be fine there. And lastly, you won't need to do anything about your FastPasses, although canceling them would allow someone else to have them.

I do have an idea that sounds crazy: since you're already engaged, there's still plenty of time to get married, on paper anyway. A lot of my friends had big, elaborate weddings after their guys got out of training or back from a deployment, but got married at a courthouse before he ever left so they could get military benefits while he was gone. If you get married now, you can enroll in DEERS, get your own Military Spouse ID, and be eligible for all the same travel benefits yourself, saving all the details of this vacation. (I told you it was crazy!)

I'm so terribly sorry that you're in this situation so close to your vacation, Cindy. Hopefully We'll See You Real Soon, and please let me know if you have any more Military questions!
