Is it possible to use the Magical Express for our luggage, but we just hop in a taxi upon landing so that we can check in and get to the parks a little faster? I've read ME can take quite a while to get you from the airport to the resorts. Thanks!

    Hi Karin,

I can tell you from personal experience that this is not possible.  Unfortunately I had the grande idea on one of my recent trips when I found a good deal on a rental car at Orlando International Airport and thought if I could completely bypass picking up my luggage and letting Disney take care of this part we could quickly get our vehicle, drive to the resort and enjoy our day while they bring us our luggage later.  This I found out from many, many phone calls later and speaking with numerous cast members that really weren't too sure and finally speaking with a manager who then told me that if your luggage uses the Magical Express, then you must use the Magical Express.  Just so you know, apart from if there happens to be a line-up at the desk, it really does go very quickly, (I have normally experienced it takes just over 1 hour from the time I get on the coach until I arrive at my Disney World Resort and it is a very comfortable ride, as well as being a complimentary service!).  Here is a link where you will actually see this question and answer I am providing below in print on Walt Disney Worlds website:

    Q. Can I book a "luggage-only" transfer?

    A. No. To utilize Disney's Magical Express Service, you must participate in both the motor coach transportation and the luggage transfer services.

Sorry for the bad news...but great minds think alike and it was a great idea while it lasted!!!

    Have a magical day!
