    We'll be at the polynesian Aug 1-8. 2 families, we would like a building central to everything and would definitely like outdoor space...a patio or balcony. We would like to be in the same building rooms close to each other..any suggestions?

    Maryellen,

    OK, the first thing you need to make sure you request is a first or third floor room. This is important, as many of the buildings (or as they call them, Longhouses) have patios on the first floor, and balconies on the third, but neither on the second floor rooms.

    Now, on to which buildings. Here are some of the more centrally located longhouses at the Polynesian Resort;

    • Niue
    • Samoa
    • Rarotonga
    • Tonga

    If you have kids coming back for naps, and are in either the Rarotonga or Tonga longhouses, request a view facing North or West. South of the resort there is the Disney Speedway. Afternoon runs of the Richard Petty Driving Experience can cause some noise levels that might make napping impossible.

    As to the two families, let the resort know that you are traveling together. When you do your online check-in 10 days before you arrive, indicate the buildings that you are interested in, and list each other's confirmation numbers. This will help the staff get you close together. Write me again if you have more than 8 between the two families and we can talk about Grand Gatherings!

    Have a magical vacation!
