What are the policy for autism children. My son is going for his 6th birthday and has adhd and autism. I am afraid that he will not be patience enough. Is there something to help out? I have him some headphones and a tablet for waiting for dining.

    Hi Rebecca,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am sure your son is super excited to meet Mickey & Minnie Mouse at the Walt Disney World Resort! I have a few suggestions to make your son's visit as magical as possible.

First, review the Services For Guests With Disabilities. Since your son may be unable to stand in long lines, I recommend that you register him for Disability Access Service. We have used this service in the past and it can be a lifesaver.

This is how the Disability Access Service works. Once you arrive at a park, take your son to Guest Services to register. Currently, you cannot register prior to your visit. Once you arrive to a park, go directly to Guest Services. Once your son is registered, you can approach a cast member at rides or attractions and explain that your son has Disability Access Service. Then, request a return time window for the ride or attraction. Our twin girls and I have been allowed to ride with my husband who had the Disability Access Service.

Although we could not use Disability Access Service for every ride or attraction, we could use it for most and we could use it in addition to our regular Fast Pass+ reservations.

Finally, be sure to make Dining Reservations. Doing so will save you wait time in lines and, for your son, that is precious time.

Sending pixie dust your way hoping you find many peaceful moments on vacation where you witness your son's joy in the middle of the magic!
