Family on Expedition Everest

As a plus size gal, will I have any issues on the thrill rides, such as Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Expedition Everest, or coasters that are similar or with seat belts? For a visual I am about 260 lbs and 5'6".

    Hey there Sarah!

Thanks for walking this way to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It sounds like you are on your way to the year’s biggest concert via Mount Everest, and you are in for a thrilling ride!

The great thing about Walt Disney World is that there is an attraction that is perfectly suited to every height, weight, and age. While some rides have height and health restrictions in place, there are no specific weight restrictions. That being said, some of the “thrill” ride vehicles may not be suited for all body types, because of the safety restraints. Most of the rides that require these restraints have a “test seat” out front to preview you so that you can get an idea of how comfortable it will be for you.

Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith’s seat restraints come over your head, so the limiting factor might be your shoulders and chest rather than your specific weight. I will assure you though, a dear friend has a similar body makeup, and was perfectly comfortable in our stretch limo. It was the same situation when we rode Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain the next day, the seats are bench-like, and the safety bar is adjustable.

Once you pick your must-do Walt Disney World experiences (when you finish chasing the Yeti I suggest you go on a “real” animal adventure at Kilimanjaro Safaris!), make sure to take advantage of the complimentary FastPass+ service. I use the My Disney Experience app to keep track, and then pick additional Fastpasses once my original three are done. It is one of the BEST ways to plan your day!

Sarah, I know you are going to have a blast! ROCK ON!!!!
