Can you please tell us more about the closing of the WDW railroad. We will be there in late December and are hoping it will be up and working. We appreciate your time and information. Granny

    Welcome back, Mary Sandra!

Thanks so much again for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel as you prepare for your next magical vacation. I love how eager you are to start planning the details of your trip, including exactly which attractions you will experience.

As you are aware, the Walt Disney World Railroad is currently undergoing a transformation in Magic Kingdom Park and is not operating. This attraction is being altered to make way for the very exciting TRON coaster-style attraction currently being built. This new Tomorrowland addition is going to be based on the popular TRON Lightcycle Power Run in Shanghai Disneyland. It is just one of the many exciting additions coming to the Walt Disney World Resort for its 50th anniversary in 2021. Since construction is still very much underway, the Walt Disney World Railroad may still be closed during your visit. Although it is not circling the park, Guests are still encouraged to hop aboard and take photos with the iconic steam engine at the Main Street U.S.A. station.

If you love scenic and relaxing attractions, I suggest taking a cruise on the Liberty Square Riverboat for a trip back in time. I just love the serene atmosphere of this attraction and viewing Tom Sawyer Island. Another one of my all-time favorite attractions that lets you relax while taking in some superb views as well as a trip into the future is the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. This has always been a family-favorite as well as one of our must-do's every trip.

I hope this helps, and I wish you a vacation that's practically perfect in every way!
