Platinum dining seems like the perfect vaction for me but price is scary. would i come out ahead if i only use photopass cd, spa treatment, child activity centers, water recreation, firework cruise, RP driving, Cirque Du, Fantasmic reserved seating.

The math of this is complicated and depends on a number of factors other than the ones you mention. In order to figure out whether the platinum plan would be worth it for you, I'd also have to know how long you're staying for, how many children and adults are in your party, how much theme park time you want, exactly which activities/treatments you want (some spa treatments cost twice as much as others) and where and what you'll be eating.

The good news is that the pricing for nearly everything at WDW is readily available. I'm going to point you to several sources that will give you a jump start on figuring this all out for yourself. These are primarily independent websites that cover Walt Disney World in depth.

    - AllEars.net: Has full menus with pricing for every WDW restaurant. Also includes ticket pricing, some room pricing, Cirque Pricing, and other data points.
    - Blog.TouringPlans.com: Search for an article called "Doing Everything at Disney World: What Would it Cost." This includes a PDF with pricing for many special WDW activities.
    - DisneyFoodBlog.com: Search there for an article called "The Most Expensive Meals in the World." This tells you many of the items you would have to eat to get the most for your Dining Plan Dollar.
    - RelaxedYet.com. Gives pricing for many WDW Spa treatments.
    - SammyDuvall.com. Gives contact info for pricing for most WDW water sports.
    - DrivePetty.com. Gives driving experiences and pricing.

Also calling Disney Dining at 407-WDW-DINE or Disney Recreation at 407-WDW-PLAY can get you many pricing data points over the phone.

To make the most of the Platinum Plan, you'd have to spend a lot of time eating and enjoying the recreation, and not much time at all in the parks. I think for many folks, the Platinum Plan is about luxury and pampering, not cost effectiveness.

This is something I'd LOVE to try myself. Enjoy!
