We are planning to take out 1 year old this November. What is there for him to do? Are there rides we can take him on?

    Hi there, Daniel!

I am planning my grandson's first trip, and he'll be six months old, so I've been really thinking about what young children can do at Walt Disney World. I'm happy to share there really are a lot of attractions perfect for little ones.

We don't have to look further than the Magic Kingdom to realize there's tons of stuff for tiny tikes. While pretty much anything without a height restriction is fair game, attractions like "it's a small world" and Prince Charming Regal Carousel were created with kids of all age in mind.

I've taken all of my girls on the Haunted Mansion, the Magic Carpets of Aladdin, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant from the time they were infants. There's nothing rough or "spinny" on any of these attractions, and when they were young, they didn't know anything at the Haunted Mansion was meant to be a little bit scary - they just loved looking around.

You'll find many of the shows are really kid friendly. My favorite memory of my oldest daughter is her first trip to Disney's Hollywood Studios, where she stood on my husband's lap and danced through the Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

With young children, plan your FastPass+ for a little later in the day, when lines are likely to be longer, or use them for character meet and greets that are must dos for you.

    Enjoy this magical first trip!
