We are planning to take our 5 year old to Florida in March for the 1st time. 2 quick questions, if you purchase tickets online for the parks do you have to set the exact dates then? I would like to do so depending on weather well i am there.

    Hi Amanda,

Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I think your 5-year old is in for one most magical March! You are as well. A Walt Disney World stay is always an amazingly fun experience. Watching one of Mickey's little pals visit Walt Disney World for the first time, and seeing in their eyes how they take in the magic for themselves, well, that's an extraordinarily and especially memorable experience.

When you purchase theme park tickets at DisneyWorld.com, you can buy a multi-day ticket, and that ticket and its options will need to be used within 14 days of first use. This gives you flexibility. I think it's important to note that starting October 16, DisneyWorld.com will launch a new vacation planning toolkit that features itinerary information and vacation advice as well as an interactive calendar for ticket purchases. With the new vacation planning site, when you select your date-based multi-day ticket, you will see the time period for which you can use the tickets. So, for example, if you purchase a 3-day ticket, you can use that ticket for any 3 days within a 5-day period beginning on the start date you selected. This feature should still give you some flexibility to use your tickets depending on the weather.

I also encourage you to make your FastPass+ selections at your earliest opportunity.

Amanda, I can imagine you might have more questions as you plan your 5-year old's first magical visit to Walt Disney World. I invite you to bring all your questions to Disney Parks Moms Panel and know that we're here for you and happy to help.

    Enjoy your Disney!
