Planning a WDW trip after five long years away! The Dining Plan doesn't work for our family, so will be paying cash for our meals. We have two very unadventours eaters ages 10 and 14. Can they order off of kid's menus at table service restauran

    Hi Heather,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question. You must be SO excited to be planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort after so many years. I think you’ll love some of the changes that have taken place, from New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom Park to the convenience of making your FastPass+ selections from the comfort of your home and using MagicBands for, well, almost everything during your vacation!

I have some great news for you: your children can absolutely order off the kids menu if they aren’t particularly adventurous eaters! The Disney Dining Plan doesn’t work particularly well for my family, either, due to the types of food and meals we like to enjoy. We visited Walt Disney World Resort recently with another family and their 10 year old was able to order off the kids menu at every restaurant we visited.

The one tip that I would give you is that, because both of your kids are considered “adults” for buffet and family style meals, I would avoid those kinds of dining experiences because those meals probably won’t give you the best value for your Disney dining dollar.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions about your family’s upcoming visit!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
