Planning to do a WDW split stay BLT/AKL Dec 2013. When do the animals "leave" the savannahs? We have requested savannah view are we most likely to enjoy the animals in the am or pm? thanks

Stacie, staying in a room with African animals outside your window is an enchanting experience your family will long remember.

During my multiple stays at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, animals were always roaming the savannah. Even in the middle of the night you can peak out your window and catch a glimpse of a sleeping kudu or antelope. Giraffes, storks, and other safari creatures lurk around in the early morning hours, at dusk, and during the day. The savannah is home for these lovely, exotic imports 24/7, so you often see the animals resting, munching on leaves, or slowly strolling about at all hours.  I have found the hottest part of the day and after dark the most difficult times to spot the animals since they tend to retreat to the shade and shelter under foliage and trees.

Please contact me if you have any additional questions about Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, want holiday event suggestions, or would like more information about any aspect of your December vacation.
