We are planning our Walt Disney World trip for March 2019. Do you need to be staying at a Disney resort to get a Magicband? Also what is better, the Disney app or the Magicbands? Where is the best place for Canadians to by tickets? So excited!!!

    Hi A,

March 2019 will be here before you know it!

You do not need to be staying onsite to use MagicBands. Guests may purchase a MagicBand and link the band to your Walt Disney World Theme Park Tickets.  MagicBands are available for purchase through the Shop Disney Parks online, at any of the 4 Theme Parks or at Disney Springs.  Once you have your MagicBands simply login to your My Disney Experience Account and follow the steps to link your MagicBand to your Theme Park Tickets.  You can also visit Guest Relations to link your tickets to your MagicBand.

My Disney Experience and MagicBands, work together to make your Walt Disney World Resort vacation run magically.  MagicBands are essentially your tickets.  You will use them to enter the theme parks, and as your resort hotel room key.  They have information such as your FastPass+ selections, Disney Dining Plan Memory Maker and room charges.  The information is loaded onto the band, but you cannot see any of the information.  My Disney Experience keeps track of all your information and reservations.  My Disney Experience is where you go to make and see your FastPass+ Selections, Dining Reservations, view PhotoPass Photos, see attraction wait times, park hours and much more.

I purchase my tickets online on the Walt Disney World website.  Currently there are great Canadian Resident Ticket offers, however the tickets must be used by December 31, 2018.

Please let us know if you have any other questions, we are always happy to help.
