We are planning a Walt Disney Vacation in March 2019. We purchased the Disney Dinning Plan and I have started to make lunch/dinner reservations. I received some confirmations where they state they do not participate in the dinning plan. Should I be worried

    Hi Sonya,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am delighted that you brought this dining plan question to us!

I would be concerned if my dining reservation confirmation stated that the restaurant does not participate in a dining plan. Prior to making advanced dining reservations, I check to make sure that each restaurant we plan to experience does accept the dining plan we have purchased. To check, go to a restaurant's website, click on the link that says "Some Dining Plans Accepted." Once you click on that link, a pop-up menu should appear that indicates which dining plans are accepted (if any) and what type of meal entitlements you would need for breakfast, lunch or dinner. When we are on a dining plan, we never eat a restaurant that does not accept our dining plan so I check prior to making the dining reservation and I double-check just prior to our visit to make sure there have not been any changes.

As an example, we always dine at Be Our Guest Restaurant for breakfast and dinner. At breakfast, it is a quick-service meal while for dinner it is now a signature dining experience. Both require different types of meal entitlements. At Be Our Guest Restaurant, we have used one quick-service meal entitlement per person for breakfast. Dinner would require two table-service meal entitlements per person 3-years old and over on the dining plan.

Sonya, once I make all of our dining reservations, I create a chart that includes confirmation numbers and the number of meal entitlements required for our entire party at each meal. Creating this chart helps me to make sure we do not run out of meal entitlements prior to the end of our trip.

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
